The Betrayal

This is final painting of the silver haired girl. Check out the colour rough here. I have made her gun smaller and adjusted her mouth to the left a bit.The paint was applied quite thickly since i wanted the brush marks to be visible.Will be coating with a nice thick gloss varnish which should unify the colours a bit more.

The title is "The Betrayal".
Acrylics on canvas. approx size 20cm x 25cm.

2nd prize win at Nintendo exhibtion

The Nintendo "Out of Controller" opened on Wednesday night (exhibition runs from 10 - 27 Sept)) at the FAD gallery in Chinatown. My entry "Pauline and Donkey Kong" won the second prize. Here are a couple of pics from the opening night.

Here is a colour study for a small painting i plan to do on canvas.
The study was done in acrylic on 300gsm watercolour paper.

Spy Girl Development

Here are some rough sketches for a 1960's style female spy/secret agent.

Gloria

I based this drawing from a model shot i found here.
My first attempt was quite naturalistic but not at all interesting.
She become more stylised as i tried to give her a "Bruce Timm" look.
Her legs are definitely Timm inspired. Haven't named her as yet but she looks like a Gloria to me.

Nintendo competeition entry

Here is my entry for the Out Of Controller competition Nintendo are running.

I chose Pauline (the original Donkey Kong damsel in distress) and the great ape from the old Donkey Kong game (1981) and turned them into cheesy cabaret musicians. Here are the roughs, a detail view and the final painting. It was painted in acrylics on watercolour paper a bit larger than A4.
