Caverns of the Snow witch illustration

These were done for a fighting fantasy paperback (remember those) called
"Caverns of the snow witch" by Ian Livingstone published by penguin books in the UK.
I think this was book 9 in the series.
i co-illustrated them with a friend Gary Ward. we were at art school together and this was our first big commision.
Altogether we had to produce about 25 illustrations for the book.
we went for a bold wood block style. we used black felt tip and the originals were drawn on A3 paper. Of course this was in the pre-computer days.
The book was a bestseller when it came out and is still in print today with the same illustrations.
